How to win and collect winner goodies

To win NaNoWriMo or Camp NaNoWriMo, you need to do two things: reach your goal and update your final word-count total on the NaNoWriMo site before midnight on the final day of the challenge (the last day of the month).

Once you have reached your goal, a purple Winner badge with fireworks will appear in your notifications (the little bell icon!) Click that badge to visit your winner page!

You can also find your winner goodies linked on the project bar of your NaNo project.

Your winner goodies will be active for about a year. The specific expiration dates will be listed next to each offer.

Troubleshooting Stubborn Projects

For NaNoWriMo, make sure your project has a Viking Helmet icon next to "50,000 words".

For Camp NaNoWriMo, make sure your project has a Tent icon next to the word count you set for your goal. 

 

What's the difference between an official NaNoWriMo goal and an independent goal?

 

Here's an example of an official Camp project with a Tent icon.

 

If you don't see an icon, and you are unable to edit your goal, please email customer service for support. Please check that the following stipulations are true before emailing customer service:

1. Your goal is 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo OR the word count you selected for Camp NaNoWriMo
2. Your start date is November 1, and your end date is November 30 for NaNoWriMo OR your start date is April 1st , and your end date is April 30 for April Camp NaNoWriMo OR your start date is July 1st, and your end date is July 31 for July Camp NaNoWriMo.

 

How to Win When Creating a New Goal or If the Event is Over

You can still do this by backdating a progress update in your goal Stats page.

Click the Add a New Update button to add a new progress update. (You can do this to fix your stats or streaks, too!)

Make sure you include a full timestamp, with AM or PM (the actual times don’t matter, they just have to exist) or it will default to the current day.

After you have saved the word counts and met or surpassed your word count to win, you will receive a notification and can follow the instructions above!
