You can add a new goal to an existing writing project. This might be useful if you achieve one goal, but your overall writing project needs more work.
- Go to "My NaNoWriMo" in the navigation menu, then select "Projects" in the dropdown.
- Select "Create A New Goal" next to the project you want to add a new goal to.
- Fill out the form to create a new goal.
If you're not participating in an official challenge (like NaNoWriMo in November, or Camp NaNoWriMo in April or July), you can ignore the "Associate with a NaNoWriMo event" option. If you are planning to participate in one of those official challenges, please check the "Associate with a NaNoWriMo event" option and select the challenge you'd like to participate in via the dropdown.
Name your goal, input a word-count goal (the default is 50K), and set your dates.
Please note that you can't overlap dates with any already-existing goals for your writing project. So, if you already have a goal set for November 1-30, you can't also add another goal with dates for November 11-15 because the two overlap. You'd have to delete your existing goal first by clicking the wheel icon on the top righthand corner of the goal, then selecting "Delete this goal". ONLY DO THIS IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH LOSING ALL THE INFORMATION AND BADGES ATTACHED TO THIS GOAL.
Once you're done setting up your goal, select "Save Goal". - Congratulations! Now you have a new goal and can update your word count as soon as the goal is active!
