If you are participating in the Young Writers Program, your teacher will let you know the requirements for the completion of your assignment.
If you are an adult writer-at-large participating in NaNoWriMo, no validation is required. NaNoWriMo as an organization does not check, approve, confirm, or personally monitor your project in any way. We simply provide:
- A platform that allows you to track your own progress (our word count tool)
- Badges to motivate you along the way (which you can earn by using our word count tool)
- Flair that allows you to celebrate your participation (which you can find on our Flair page)
- A special experience for Wrimos who enter the official challenge, meet the target word count goal and "win" the challenge
- Multi-year, multi-project tracking and cumulative word count for people who participate multiple years
Though the organization provides resources, encouragement, and community, your project is your project. NaNoWriMo asks you to create a goal that is meaningful to you and provides encouragement and resources to help you along your journey. We are not a publisher and we have no role in how your work will find its audience or make its way into the world. We don't see or interact with your work as part of our core program on NaNoWriMo.org. NaNoWriMo is all about you showing up for yourself and your writing!
If you're asking how you can "win" NaNoWriMo on the main NaNoWriMo website, you may want to check out this help desk topic:
