NaNoWriMo's mission is to provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people use their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds—on and off the page. We always want to be in a position to work with people and organizations doing work that aligns to our mission. To the extent that collaborations can require significant staff time to strategize, coordinate, and execute, we are not in a position to pursue every collaboration we are approached with, no matter how mission-aligned a partnership may be.
Here is what we can offer:
- If you are a volunteer or organization who simply wants to offer something to our community members (e.g., a literary agency that wants to offer a Q&A session, a venue owner who wants to offer writing space, etc.) please reach out to our Programs staff at programs@nanowrimo.org.
- If you want to promote a local event, this is a self-service feature of our website that all registered NaNoWriMo members have access to. Simply submit your event in the regional space applicable to the location of your event using as much detail as possible. It will be reviewed and approved by NaNoWriMo volunteers or staff.
- If you want to promote a global or multi-region event, or if you want to promote a project of widespread interest, our Facebook Group is a place where any community member is welcome to post, even for self-promotion purposes, on select days of the week, in accordance with group rules (no repeat posts or spamming, please).
- If you are looking for wide reach across our audiences, our sponsorship or affiliate programs may be a good fit. There is a cost associated with these programs due to the out-of-pocket expenses NaNoWriMo incurs for close collaborations. Please reach out to the Executive Director at executivedirector@nanowrimo.org for more information.
- If what you're looking to do does not fall into any of these categories, please open a help desk ticket describing your proposal.
